Located in the magnificent bay of Naples, the Hotel Excelsior is a historic landmark steeped in tradition which occupies a prestigious place on the seafront. The Excelsior Hotel was opened in Naples in December 1908. Leading members of the Neapolitan nobility as well as personalities from all over the world were present at the opening ceremony which was held at the end of January 1909. It took only two years to plan, build and furnish from the day - January 6th, 1907 - on which a company from Zurich called Hotel Enterprises signed the contract for the purchase of the land. The land concerned is situated in Santa Lucia along the coast of Naples. The drawing-rooms have hosted parties and banquets for important guests: royal families, aristocrats, financiers, actors and actresses from the stage and screen, artists and scientists, none of whom would have missed a stay at the Hotel Excelsior. “Hotel Excelsior” in Naples offers the highest standards of hospitality and fully lives up to its name: “Excelsior” means “the best” in Latin. |
